Pulse Dynamics and Privacy Rights
Pulse Dynamics stives to comply with applicable privacy regulations, in particular the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Pulse Dynamics’ customers and feedback or experience tracker responders may be entitled to exercise rights under privacy laws, and we'll do our best to help customers comply with any such requests that they may get from respondents.
Pulse is designed to be transparent in nature. To all those that provide feedback or commentary on their experience, what you see is all there is – we collect nothing more. All the data you submit is available for you to see.
In terms of definition, Pulse Dynamics is classified as a data processor. Its customers, as Account Holders, are data controllers. Therefore, the Account Holder has the responsibility to administer, respond to and act on any requests of those in its feedback or experience tracking programmes.
The GDPR includes six principles that organisations must apply when they collect and use personal data. These principles are:
- Personal data must be processed in a manner which is lawful, fair and transparent. This means that when we collect and process the information you provide, we must have a lawful basis for doing so, and the Account Holder must consider the rights and interests of the person the data is about and must provide clear information about the use of the data.
- Personal data must be collected for specified, explicit and legitimate purposes and not used in any ways which are incompatible with those purposes. When the Account Holder collects personal data, we must be very clear about why they need it and what they will do with it.
- Personal data we collect must be adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. This means the Account Holder must make sure that they only collect and use personal data that is strictly necessary for the stated purpose or purposes.
- Personal data must be accurate, and where necessary, kept up to date. With Pulse, all data submitted by an individual is visible to the individual who submitted it, and this information is time stamped. This means that any individual can review their feedback or experience tracking data that they have submitted as an accurate record.
- Personal data must be kept in a format which allows identification for no longer than is necessary for the purposes for which it is used. All submitted feedback is instantly captured and visible to view. However, it is the Account Holder that sets how long they retain it. In cases where it is deemed that feedback data is to retain as anonymised, then the data will be presented as anonymised to the Account Holder.
- Personal data must be used in a manner that ensures appropriate security of the data. This means that ours and the Account Holder’s policies, procedures, systems and working practices must ensure that personal data is protected from unlawful access and is kept secure at all times.
Specifically for Account Holders
As Account Holders, you are the controllers of the data.
Account Holders can be either individual activity creators or organisations who own a Pulse Dynamics account. Account Holders are responsible for ensuring all feedback and experience tracking activities are compliant with their own company practices, policies and procedures and necessary privacy laws.
As an Account Holder, you are required to respond to requests by respondents who ask to exercise any of their rights. Since Pulse Dynamics is not the controller of response data, we can't directly handle these requests for you, but we will help you comply with requests you might get from respondents.
Specifically for Respondents and Panelists
Respondents and Panelists are people who respond to requests for feedback or provide ongoing commentary using the Pulse service, as requested by an Account Holder. If you are a Respondent or Panelist with a question about this activity, you should contact the Account Holder who invited you into this activity. The Account Holder is responsible for setting up, issuing, controlling, assessing and administrating the desired activity.
If you are unable to get in touch with the Account Holder, contact us with the following:
- Your name and email address
- Activity link, email invitation, or web page you used to provide feedback
Since Pulse Dynamics doesn't control the response data, we can't directly handle these types of requests directly for the Account Holder, but we will help you identify and put you in contact with the appropriate Account Holder so that they can respond.
If you are unable to exercise your rights using the information above, or you want to exercise your right to be forgotten, please contact us. We endeavour to respond to requests within 30 days.
